Esquinas do Brasil — Esquina de Minas

EMusical encounters connecting places, artists and diverse expressions of Brazilian music.

Esquinas do Brasil was conceived as a series of cultural events in public spaces, bringing the artistic, culinary and cultural diversity of different Brazilian states to the streets of São Paulo.

The Esquina de Minas edition took place on June 1, 2008, at the intersection of Avenida Paulista and Rua Minas Gerais. The choice of location created a symbolic connection between São Paulo and the identity of Minas Gerais, transforming the urban space into a place for gathering, shared experiences and cultural celebration.

The program brought together music, crafts, food, cheeses, cachaças, traditional knowledge and small-scale producers. Produced by Árvore Cultural, the initiative celebrated the interconnected aspects of Minas Gerais culture, bringing artists, producers and audiences together in an open public setting.

The musical program featured performances by Renato Teixeira, Tetê Espíndola, Alexandre Saad and an orchestra of traditional Brazilian viola players from the interior of Minas Gerais. The project also brought together artisans from the Jequitinhonha Valley and welcomed institutional representatives, strengthening connections between music, folk culture, craftsmanship and collaboration between Minas Gerais and São Paulo.
